In order to further improve our service to patients, Talamo Laser Eye Consultants has elected to invest in the ALLEGRETTO WAVE Eye-Q laser system. This system provides a better quality of laser ablation at a faster speed and with more reliable outcomes. The observation of ophthalmologists already utilizing this technology has been that the ALLEGRETTO WAVE Eye-Q is inherently able to sculpt corneal tissue more effectively, efficiently, and accurately than other excimer laser systems.
This new service is referred to as OptiLASIK as it provides optimal results. The Gaussian beam working at 400 pulses per second, enables the ALLEGRETTO WAVE Eye-Q to reshape the corneal tissue utilizing superior technology compared to other excimer laser systems. The ALLEGRETTO WAVE Eye-Q takes 5 seconds per diopter to correct hyperopia and takes only 2.5 seconds per diopter to correct myopia. Shorter treatment times decrease patient anxiety and more importantly, improves patient outcomes by minimizing corneal drying.
The ALLEGRETTO WAVE Eye-Q prevents eye cyclorotation by utilizing four amber lights that form a box around the green flashing fixation light. These four lights orient the patient’s eye vertically and horizontally, minimizing cyclorotation.
For us, the ALLEGRETTO WAVE Eye-Q system met three crucial criteria: safety, speed and efficacy. When combined with the exquisite precision of our ultra-short pulsed femtosecond-YAG laser (IntraLase) for flap creation, we continue to offer our patients the best possible technology for LASIK surgery.
