Charlotte - Business Consultant

Dr. Cloutier is our business consultant in strategic planning and management.   She holds a Master Degree in Sociology and a Doctorate in Law & Public Policy from Northeastern University and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University.  Charlotte possesses more than 20 years experience working in the medical profession, in specialty practices such as ophthalmology, cardiology, dermatology, and gastroenterology. She has been involved in sales, mergers, and acquisition of medical practices, since 1992.  She has served as consultant to Dr. Talamo since 1994. Charlotte joined University Eye & Ear Consultants of Boston in 1996, where she acted as business manager for UEECB and for Cornea Consultants for six years.   Along with Dr. Talamo and his partners,  she was instrumental in starting Laser Eye Center of Boston in 1996, the first privately owned refractive surgery center in Massachusetts.  She was recruited by Aris Vision of California in 1998 to become its Regional Director for the East Coast operations.  Charlotte has successfully managed multiple business development projects involving the construction of medical offices and laser centers and acquisition of new technology.  In recent years, she has focused on business planning and expansion, recruitment of professionals, contract negotiations, management issues, EMR integration, and financial operations.

Karin - Practice Manager

Karin comes to Talamo Laser Eye Consultants with more than twenty years experience in the administration and financial management of ophthalmic practices, starting in 1989 where she commenced work as Administrative Assistant to the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Karin moved on to become the Administrative Manager of the New England Eye Center of Boston where she was actively involved in the expansion and development of business processes, and continued growth of this health care institution. She was recruited by Aris Vision Institute out of Santa Monica, California where she served as Center Manager of Boston operations and coordinated the construction and business set-up for two satellite locations. She then transitioned with Dr. Talamo as Business Manager for University Eye and Ear Consultants of Boston where she oversaw the daily operations and administration of policies and procedures for both Cornea Consultants and Laser Eye Consultants of Boston. Finally, Karin has successfully participated in the development of Talamo Laser Eye Consultants of Boston and has played an instrumental role in the creation of business processes and patient care policies and procedures for this corporation.

 Nicole- Marketing and Business Development Specialist

Nicole comes to Talamo Laser Eye Consultants with more than fifteen years of experience and a solid background in ophthalmology and business development, particularly in the field of laser vision correction surgery. During her tenure as Business Development & Regional Manager for a network of laser vision correction centers in the mid-Atlantic, Nicole acted as the Liaison between Washington, DC and New Jersey based laser centers and the corporate offices located in Toronto, Canada. Nicole successfully identified and cultivated strategic alliances with area Optometrists and support staff – establishing business alliances with many Optometrists in the DC metro area. While working alongside and coordinating the laser schedule for more than 20 surgeons in an open access surgical suite at the Laser Eye Center of Boston, Nicole also functioned as a coordinator for clinical trials leading to FDA approval of LASIK for treatment of hyperopia and astigmatism. Nicole has also served as a surgical coordinator and marketing specialists for the New England Eye Center of Tufts University Medical Center.

Daly - Refractive and Surgical Coordinator

Daly possesses more than twelve years experience in the collection, processing and analysis of data through her previous work with the US Department of Labor. Daly has successfully transitioned this capability into her work as Surgical Coordinator and Laser Suite Coordinator with Talamo Laser Eye Consultants. She is a jack of all trades whose hand touches nearly all aspects of surgical patients with our facility. Daly is the liaison between Talamo Laser Eye Consultants and Surgisite Boston whose organizational skills have allowed her to assist in the development of policies and procedures to ensure smooth scheduling and surgical experiences for our patients. In addition to her capabilities as Surgical Coordinator, Daly is the lead technician in the Laser Suite. She applies her knowledge and comprehension of patient safety and care protocols methodically in the laser suite, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Barbara - Billing Coordinator

Barbara has been working with Dr Talamo for more than 14 years. Barbara started her medical billing career at Tufts New England Medical Centers where she commenced work as a ward secretary for the Intensive Care Unit and was then promoted to outreach liaison for Obstetrician and Gynecology clinics throughout the greater Boston area. Since arriving to Talamo Laser Eye Consultants, Barbara has proved herself invaluable as our Medical Billing Specialist who has developed an infinite knowledge in the field of CPT and ICD-9 coding and collections, has created protocols for physician credentialing processes, and even finds herself assisting with reception operations when necessary.

Jennie - Ophthalmic Techician

A JCHAPO certified Ophthalmic Technician with more than twenty years experience in the field of ophthalmology, Jennie has been providing outstanding patient care as Dr. Talamo's senior technician since 1998.  As the daughter of a prominent ophthalmologist,  Jennie adheres to the highest standards of quality care with her meticulous diagnostic testing skills.   She has a bachelors degree in communication studies and is continually utilizing her knowledge and skills to ensure a memorable experience is enjoyed by all who visit Talamo Laser Eye Consultants. When not providing care to our patients, Jennie enjoys a wide variety of music, photography, art and travel.

Chris- Ophthalmic and Laser Technician

A JCHAPO certified Ophthalmic Assistant with more than seven years experience, Chris incorporates his ophthalmic knowledge and phenomenal people skills into every patient work-up he performs. Chris wears a second hat as our Refractive Surgical Technician where he assists our surgeons in the laser suite with all refractive surgical procedures. Chris’ commitment to quality patient care is evidenced by his development and maintenance of Public Health protocols within Talamo Laser Eye Consultants where he has established policies and procedures for maintenance and inventory of all medications, instrument and surface sterilization techniques, and documentation. During his free time, Chris enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and enjoys woodworking.

Dan - Ophthalmic Assistant

Dan came to Talamo Laser Eye Consultants initially as an intern with Bentley College where he studied finance.  As an intern, Dan assisted the billing department with collections and reconciliation of payments and then expanded his services into Medical Records where he assisted with major projects regarding the conversion of old medical records into our new medical records system.  Dan quickly discovered that he had a penchant for ophthalmology and enjoys the one on one interaction with patients. He elected to stay on board with TLEC upon completion of his undergraduate studies.  Dan is currently taking the Certified Ophthalmic Assistants course, sponsored by JCHAPO, where he intends to become nationally certified as an Ophthalmic Assistant.

Viviane - Front Desk Supervisor

At Talamo Laser Eye Consultants it is all about the quality of the experience, which we are so committed that we have hired well qualified customer service oriented individuals with the intake/outtake of our patients. No small feat, supervising our front desk operations requires a multi-tasker who is able to overcome obstacles.  Viviane possesses not only that quality, but also ten years customer service experience. Viviane embarked on her professional work experience as a Customer Service Representative for CompUSA where she was rapidly promoted to Front Desk Supervisor. Viviane continued her progression in corporate America as an Office Administrator for a stone contracting business where she was responsible for developing job quotes for multiple clients including but not limited to a home remodel through a major metropolitan expansion project.  She then ventured into the world of finance via her work as a Portfolio Specialist with an investment plan firm where Viviane was responsible for the creation of more than 529 Investment Plan Portfolios. TLEC was fortunate to acquire Viviane in June 2008 where she signed on as a Medical Receptionist and has since progressed into the position of Front Desk Supervisor. We are pleased to have Vivian as a member of our team and are certain that those visiting our facility will be grateful for the outstanding service they will be provided by our front desk reception.

Lizzy - Front Desk Secretary

Lizzy comes to Talamo Laser Eye Consultants with more than nine years secretarial experience. She commenced her work as a Medical Secretary for a pediatric practice in Chelsmford, MA where she developed an innate ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.  Lizzy moved onto a busy internal medicine practice in Concord, MA where she further nurtured her customer service skills through her experience as a Medical Secretary . Oftentimes Lizzy would utilize her diplomatic skills to resolve patient conflicts and eventually transferred those skills into office protocols. Since her arrival to TLEC, Lizzy has proven herself very capable at taking on special projects. She has immersed herself into our daily operations rather smoothly and is even suggesting solutions for further efficiency.We are pleased to have Lizzy as a member of the TLEC team and are certain patients visiting our office will experience the same.
