WHAT IS THE TECNIS® ACCOMODATIVE INTRAOCULAR LENS?The TECNIS® accommodating intraocular lens is an intraocular lens intended for primary implantation for the visual correction of aphakia in adult patients with and without presbyopia in whom a cataract has been removed and who desire near, intermediate, and distance vision with increased independence from spectacles.
Although most people over the age of 60 experience some level of blurry vision due to cataracts, and almost everyone over 50 loses their ability to read comfortably without glasses due to presbyopia, the TECNIS® Multifocal Lens now makes it possible to regain performance more like that of your younger eyes.

Every surgical procedure has risks and potential side effects. Your doctor will explain all of these in full detail during your visit. However, the lens removal and lens implant technique used in the TECNIS® procedure is performed over 15 million times per year worldwide and is recognized for its safety and predictability.
How long will it be before I see well?
Everyone heals at a different rate, but in most cases, you will notice improved vision almost immediately after your procedure. You may, however, have an adjustment period where you see some glare or halos around bright lights. In most cases, this can last a period of weeks or months.
Will I be totally free from glasses?
Many people with the TECNIS® lens experience the best eyesight they have had in years. In fact, nearly 9 out of 10 people do not require glasses after receiving a TECNIS Multifocal implantable lens.
